Founder & Principal Chiropractor
Dr Julia Churchill
Julia's interest in the human body began from a young age but it wasn't until her late teens after battling with chronic eczema and a back injury that she found natural health care was where she discovered her life mission. She began seeing a chiropractor for her injury which sparked the beginning of her Chiropractic journey.
After graduating from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic she was quickly awarded a scholarship to study animal chiropractic at Options for Animals in Kansas, USA. Incredibly passionate about animals, this was another aspect of her career she had been looking forward to since discovering chiropractic.
As an Professional Aerialist (Aerial dancer) with almost 30 years of dancing experience, her knowledge of the body and its capabilities is just one of the advantages Julia has, having witnessed her own body's limits in strength and flexibility.
Julia enjoys challenging the incredible possibilities of the mind, body and spirit and channeling that knowledge and power into her care and love for her clients.
Julia is also mum to a thriving little girl, a studio owner which runs weekly classes for pole dancing and aerials and loves immersing herself into nature and fun activities.
Behind the desk
Catherine Crispe is a vital and integral part of the Balance family, our Chiropractic Assistant who joined the team in September 2011.
She is Mum to two active children, who happily cycle many kilometers of off road trails around the country.
Catherine loves her job and enjoys helping people who seek wellness. She discovered Balance Chiropractic when her daughter was born and now both her children and her husband have regular adjustments.
Catherine loves going to the lake with her family, reading as much as possible about health and nutrition, catching fish, and relaxing with good friends. She also makes an excellent brew of Kombucha, puts up with bad jokes from other CA's, and keeps the place ticking over beautifully.
Senior Chiropractic Assistant
Meet Kieran, a member of the Balance Family for three years now.
Kieran is a third year student at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and if we're lucky, he may choose Waiuku as the place to start his career.
You may recognise Kieran from around town. He has been a familiar friendly face at the Supermarket and is a talented musician.
Most surprisingly though, is his career as a Professional Wrestler! When he's not flying off the top rope, you'll likely see him on Monday afternoons running shift, and covering others during holidays when needed.
Chiropractic Assistant &
Katie Aiken is part of a large family who have lived in Waiuku for the past ten years. Katie was an avid hockey player for seven years, coaching, umpiring and playing. She still helps out her younger sisters’ teams when needed.
She found Balance Chiropractic due to ongoing issues with prolonged concussive symptoms. Having regular adjustments has played an important role in helping her continue taking small steps in her recovery.
Katie loves her job and enjoys helping people in their journey for better health.
She thrives in the outdoors, including swimming. She often travels around the North Island visiting family and friends. She loves camping, cooking, and creating.
You’ll see her running shift on Mondays and filling in on other days as well.
